A lamp globe, or even a lamp shade in a more common term, is a fixture that covers the bulb on a lamp to diffuse the lighting that it gives off or to block it in certain directions so it does not cause glare by shining straight in one's eyes.
Bedroom lamps: If you don't have overhead lights in your bedroom, use floor lamps. It's also wise that you install bedside lamps. In addition to complimenting the look of the house, also ensure that they are smaller than those in the living room. To avoid the asymmetrical look ensure that the table lamp doesn't overwhelm the nightstand that you place it on.
A lamp for the dining room can be from 20 to 36 inches in height. Choose a lamp that is just the right height so it would not shine straightly on the diner's eyes. Place a lamp with slim base in the dining room so it will take only less space and leave enough room for food platters, tableware stacks and other stuffs. To provide a romantic glow in the room, you can use a lamp with metallic gold or nickel interior and opaque shade. Bulbs to be used in dining rooms are below 60 Watts; bulbs with silver tips can effectively reduce glare.
Also I do love the relaxed atmosphere our bedside table lamps bring to the room where like everyone else I spend hours every night. Once again it's the ambient light that gets me! When I'm heading to bed after a long day I don't need bright lights glaring at me. I need rest, peace and calm. A well designed bedside lamp gives me that.
