Dr. Hurley is a Professor at Fordham University and President of Hurley Associates. At Fordham Dr. Hurley has been recognized by the student body for his excellence
in teaching with the Gladys and Henry Crown Award for faculty excellence. Dr. Hurley consults with organizations on leadership development, top team
development, coaching, managing transformational change and developing and implementing strategies to maximize customer value. He has been a core faculty member in
Columbia Business School's Leading and Managing People Program for the past 15 years. In the Columbia program he teaches sessions on Leadership and Emotional
Intelligence and Managing Change. Dr. Hurley was a senior consultant for five years with W. Warner Burke Associates, a firm specializing in organization
consultation. Prior to that he was a Product Manager at Kraft Foods for five years where he led and managed new product development and established-brands teams.
He began his career as a CPA working for Ernst and Whinney and Arthur Andersen where he consulted with large-and medium-sized companies in the financial area.
Dr. Hurley's consulting experience has included work on innovation with NASA and managing change with Avon Products, IBM, Mercedes Benz, First Tennessee Bank,
Sheetz Convenience Stores, State Farm Insurance, Kraft Foods, and Kinkos. His work has involved work with groups in the functional areas of finance, marketing, sales,
manufacturing as well as work with top management teams. He has also done consulting in the banking, insurance, retail, real estate, and manufacturing industries. His
consulting has included work in the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.
Dr. Hurley has a B.S. from Fordham University and earned his MBA at the Wharton School. While at Wharton he served as a Senior Consultant at the Wharton
Entrepreneurial Center, where he consulted with growing companies on issues of strategy, marketing and organization. Dr. Hurley received his doctorate from Columbia
University. He has published over 20 articles or book chapters. His work has appeared in the California Management Review, Advances in Services Marketing and
Management and the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management.
