For the living room, choose a lamp shade made of fabric or slightly opaque paper to provide warm glow in the room. If to be placed near a television, an opaque shade can be chosen to reduce glare. For a modern look, drum shades may be used and if traditional look is preferred, conical shades are recommended. For reading purposes, the lamp's bulb must be at least 60 Watts; a dimmer or three0way bulb can be used for modulating the brightness.
Nowadays, many people are aware of the decoration and beauty of their room. They use numerous things to brighten it up but at the end they feel something missing. They feel that something is there that should be in the room. Well, it is a pair of table lamp. Yes, a table lamp gives an unmatchable attractiveness by giving warm light and glow to the room. Not only the room but you can glow up your low sofa tables, shelves, a chest, or a sideboard. They can also be used to brighten some collection, any dark corner and is also helpful for reading.
When selecting lamps for the living room, pick a fixtures that are good to look at whether the light is on or off. The lamps need to be placed where they will not obstruct the view. The height of most living room lamps is 26-34 inches tall. To determine the height without looking up, you may sit on a chair near the table where the lamp is and check if the shade bottom must not be higher than your eye level. Choose a sturdy-based lamp with adequate weight so it won't easily be knocked off with accidental bumps. Light sources in a room must be positioned 10 feet from one another.
Colour choices in lampshades will depend on personal preference, the lamp style and colour, and the decor in the room. Multi-coloured or hand painted lamps should be paired with a muted or single colour shade. For single colour lamps, shades can range from complementary colours to crazy prints.
